After Google and Samsung, another Company begun experimenting smart lenses. According to the patent held by Sony, its lenses will be able to take pictures and shoot video, then save all files in memory within the same lenses. But that's not all: Sony’s patent is also expected to connect lenses with other external devices such as tablets and smartphones whose captured images will be displayed directly on the lens surface. All at the speed of a blink of an eye. Eye movements, however, will allow to control zoom, autofocus and even image stabilization to ensure its quality.

The project is potentially very innovative, but the current technology and the possible legislative problems does not allow to have a clear idea on the timing of the realization of the prototype.
